After graduating from film school and working in the film industry for over a decade, Alex Rocca knows how to combine disparate materials into a cohesive image that leaves a multi-sensory impression on the viewer's soul. Drawing on his personal and professional experiences, Alex has begun to weave together complex tactile experiences with the emotions generated by colour and indescribable shapes. His tapestries can be compared to works of non-figurative painting, using natural threads and fibres such as wool and sisal as if they were paint. This allows you to feel his pieces not only visually, but also with the skin: you can put your cheek against them and dip your fingers into the inner structure of the complex canvases. At the same time, these artworks, like sculptures, have a relief that evokes associations with the landscapes you look down on from high in the sky. Thus, in the light of the moving sun, Alex Rocca's tapestries come to life and each time appear in a new way, as if they were some fantastic views from the windows.
