JOSIANE DIAS. PINK RIPPLE OF THE BLACK RIVER

WE Gallery x LUNAR

The Amazon is a river flowing from the depths of time. In this series from the Pará region, Josiane Dias explores not so much wildlife as the "inner rivers" of human consciousness. Her photographs distance themselves from traditional documentary style: reflections of the flooded forest transform into fluid rhythms, while stilt houses serve as a reminder of human fragility before the elements. The pink hue of the series is a metaphor for the "pink noise" of the riverside jungle and an echo of legends about the pink botos. In this ripple, moments no longer rival eternity, but manifest as its brief splashes: the quiet accidents of the black river’s flow.

Josiane Dias (b. 1966) is a Brazilian artist based in Moscow, São Paulo and Brasilia. Her practice intends to blur the boundaries between photography and painting. Through abstraction and subjective narrative, she seeks the poetic and ephemeral within landscapes, transcending literal representation in search of a deeper vision.
