One of the ideas that Percival Lafer absorbed as a student was Frank Lloyd Wright's statement that form and function are one. Furniture should be comfortable, but its form, while attractive, should not be the object of admiration of a narrow circle of intellectuals. For this reason, designing new things like these armchairs required a great deal of experimentation in shaping the fibreglass frame and the special filling so that the body would comfortably rest in it.
